All Candidates Meeting

Wednesday, September 30, 2015 6:00pm - 9:00pm
Location: Royal Canadian Legion Br.#63 - 490 Ontario Street

We will be hosting an All Candidates Meeting on Wed. Sept 30th at the Royal Canadian Legion Br. # 63 located at 490 Ontario Street, Collingwood.
Doors open to public at 6:00 pm with All Candidate Meeting to start at 7:00pm sharp.

Currently there are 5 confirmed candidates: (listed in no particular order)

1.       Dr. Kellie Leitch – Conservative Party
2.       Joanne Fleming – Green Party
3.       David Matthews– New Democrat Party
4.       Mike MacEachern – Liberal Party
5.       Len Noordegraaf - Christian Heritage Party

Each Candidate is invited to participate in our All Candidates meeting.
Moderator for the evening will be Mr. John Eaton.

All Candidates Itinerary

• Candidates are not permitted to put up or display signs of any kind on the Legion property or inside the Legion.
• Candidates are permitted to pass out handouts prior to the start of the All Candidates meeting but you have to pick up all of your material that is left over following the All Candidates meeting.
• 6:15pm   Pre-show meeting with ALL the Candidates and Trish Irwin CEO - Collingwood Chamber of Commerce to discuss how the event will take place and draw for order of speaking.
• Media will meet amongst themselves to decide on questions (so there will not be duplicates and draw for order of asking the questions.)
• Question cards will be available at the door prior to the beginning of the meeting.  Audience will have until the beginning of candidate speeches to place their questions into the question jar near the front door.

• 7:00pm –SHARP- All Candidates Meeting to begin.

1. Each candidate will have 4 minutes to speak.

a) Time Keeper will raise her hand at the 30 seconds left mark for the candidate to wrap it up.

b) At the agreed time the Time Keeper will, sound a buzzer and microphones will be turned off.

• Following opening remarks questions will be posed from the media panel to Candidates.  The Moderator will allow 2 minutes for the specific Candidate to respond to the question posed to them by the media then the Moderator will allow the remaining Candidates 1 minute to respond to the same question. The microphones will be cut off at the end of the time period.
• Following media panel questions, audience questions will be read by the Moderator who will allow 1 minute for each Candidate to respond.
• Each Candidate will have 2 minutes for closing remarks.
