Friday, September 18, 2015 9:00pm - 10:00pm
Location: Millennium Park
Independent curator, Yasmin Nurming-Por, assembled a collection of images from the days shipbuilding and sidelaunches here in Collingwood. Hundreds turned out to see the very special effect caused by the projection of these images onto our Terminal buildings at Millennium Park during the Sidelaunch Festival. The second night, featuring a video of sidelaunches in our harbour was to be shown the following night but weather prevented this from happening. Sept 18 is your chance to see the presentation in its entirety (both parts) and hear from Ms. Nurming-Por as she discusses the process of assembling this historical exhibit. Witness the magical feeling of seeing history unfold on the side of our very own Terminal buildings at the end of an awesome Collingwood summer.
AT SEA / Sidelaunch II - starts at 9pm (each presentation will occur twice between 9pm and 10pm) Parking & Shuttles: There is limited parking available at the municipal parking lot on Heritage Drive next to the boat launch ramp. Consider parking in one of the downtown municipal parking lots and taking the free shuttle up to Millennium Park. The shuttle will run the length of Heritage Drive from 8pm to 10:30pm making stops at The Station Museum, the intersection of Heritage Drive and Sidelaunch Way, the parking lot at the boat launch ramp, and Millennium Park.
