First Responder Course

Location: 1 First St, Suite 218, Collingwood (Admiral Building)

Canadian Red Cross First Responder course, offered by HELP First Aid, a Canadian Red Cross National Training Partner.

This is a valuable lifesaving course, the first in pre-hospital care. Required for employment at many fire departments, and for ski patrollers at many resorts. 40 hour course includes:

First Responder Certification

Duration:

40-44 hours for full certification course

Instructor:

Red Cross Advanced Emergency Care Instructor or Emergency Care Instructor Trainer

Prerequisites:

Standard First Aid with CPR C (or HCP)
pre-course assignment

Price:

$625.00

Completion Requirements:

100% attendance, skill demonstration, 1 evaluated scenarios, and 80% min. passing grade on written exam

Certification:

3-year certification in First Responder, CPR Level HCP, and AED

 

First Responder Recertification

Duration:

20 hours; includes CPR Level HCP

Recertification Prerequisites:

Current Red Cross full certification (FR), valid within 3 years

Price:

$350.00

Completion Requirements:

100% attendance, skill demonstration, 2 evaluated scenarios, and 80% min. passing grade on written exam

Recertification:

3-year certification in First Responder, CPR Level HCP, and AED

Recommended for:

Firefighters, Pre-fire students, ski patrollers, patient transfer staff.

Scenario based training gives the students the skills they need to be comfortable offering pre-hospital care, on the ski hill, during an automobile accident, or at a medical call.
