RUNGE ENGINEERING TO JOIN MULTI-DISCIPLINARY FIRM TATHAM ENGINEERING

Complementary services and shared values establish positive pairing

Tatham Engineering (“Tatham”), a multi-disciplinary civil engineering consulting firm, announced today that it will be acquiring the shares of Collingwood-based firm Runge Engineering (“Runge”) on July 1, 2021. Runge’s focus on electrical and mechanical engineering will be an asset to Tatham, who currently specialize in land development, municipal infrastructure renewal, structural, bridges, transportation, water resources,coastal and water and wastewater engineering.
“This union will strengthen our capabilities and competitiveness across all areas of our business,” said Tatham’s President, Dan Hurley. “We have worked with Runge on many significant projects over the years and have established a collaborative relationship built on respect and trust. Our collective core values, which focus on the wellness of our staff, communities and clients, confirmed this is a perfect fit for Tatham and will strengthen our foundation for future growth.”
Runge’s team of 16 staff will become part of Tatham on July 1, however they will continue to operate under the Runge Engineering name for the immediate future to ensure a seamless transition.

Tatham Engineering is a team of multi-disciplinary project managers, engineers, technical staff and industry professionals who have been challenged to provide consulting engineering, design and construction services relating to the fields of land development, municipal infrastructure, structural, transportation, water resources and water and wastewater engineering. The employee-owned firm was originally established in 1988 as C.C. Tatham & Associates Ltd. by founder Charles Tatham. Since then, it has grown from a team of five to over 130 staff working out of five offices in Collingwood, Barrie, Bracebridge, Orillia and Ottawa.
About Runge Engineering
In 2007, Gerhard Runge incorporated Runge and Associates as an electrical engineering firm, providing services to public and private sectors. Mechanical services were later added in 2010, and recently the firm rebranded as Runge Engineering. The company currently employs a team of 16 professional, technical and support staff out of their Collingwood office.
