Job description: Public Relations Coordinator Job Description

Hospice Georgian Triangle Foundation is looking for a Public Relations Coordinator to join our team. Reporting to the Executive Director Hospice Georgian Triangle Foundation, this role supports the day-to-day communication, strategic priorities and marketing activities of both Hospice Georgian Triangle Foundation and Hospice Georgian Triangle.
The successful candidate will grow awareness of the programs and services provided by Hospice Georgian Triangle as well as the Hospice Georgian Triangle Foundation. The candidate will assist in the flow of information within these organizations and will support the teams’ priorities within the organization and the community, with input from senior leadership.
Hospice Georgian Triangle provides compassionate care both in the home and at Campbell House, as well as programs within the community, for individuals and families dealing with life-limiting illness living in The Town of The Blue Mountains, Collingwood, Wasaga Beach and Clearview Township. All care programs come at no cost and focus on the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of both the patient and family, enhancing quality of life.
Hospice Georgian Triangle Foundation's purpose is to raise the funds that allows Hospice Georgian Triangle to provide exceptional hospice palliative care and community programming.

Responsibilities:
Hospice Georgian Triangle Foundation 60%
? Coordinating the Foundation's annual marketing communications plan (quarterly newsletters, impact report/annual report, posters, social media, press releases, website content, etc.), to support team priorities and deliverables
? Assist with fundraising campaigns and manage a one-year calendar of the organizations’ content requirements and updating it monthly
? Coordinate marketing of large-scale events
? Work closely with the Executive Director to create and design a marketing plan for external communications from pre-event promotion, sponsorship solicitation, onsite print and digital collateral, and post-event communications. This includes but is not limited to print and digital advertisements, eblasts to donors, sponsorship packages, press releases, and other touchpoints to participants, donors, prospects, and sponsors.
? Other administrative tasks as needed to support the marketing and public relations of events
? Assist with presentations (internal and external) and wrap up reports for various campaigns and events
? Seek, coordinate, and update contact info for media lists
? Assist with copy, assets, and deliverables for media
? Work with Executive Director to create and manage annual marketing budget and events marketing budgets
? Manage contracts with advertisers

Hospice Georgian Triangle 20%
? Coordinate the development of Hospice content and collateral for the purpose of increasing awareness of services. Dedicated one day a week at Campbell House
? Assist in production of communications materials including educational brochures, updating web content, production of assets related to operations, such as the welcome informational package
? Manage stories related to experiences at Campbell House and Hospice Georgian Triangle in the community
? Assist internal communications including the monthly staff and volunteer newsletters
? Oversee the production of Hospice ‘stories’

Media related activities for both organizations 20%
? Seek opportunities through proactive media relationship coordination (Radio, TV, online blogs etc.)
? Assist and support with external public relations (including meet and greets, speakers’ series, and media interviews)
? Assist in coordinating and creating engaging content on our digital marketing channels (social media accounts, website, email newsletter) and update website content, following the marketing calendar
? Oversee daily monitoring of media outlets for hospice and palliative care coverage and disseminate to the teams as required
? Manage and grow photo libraries of visuals available for public relations and marketing

Requirements
? Excellent writing ability
? Organized, flexible and adaptable with the ability to multi-task/adapt in a fast-paced environment
? Creative, solutions-focused problem solver
? Understand social media, blogs, websites, magazines, newspapers, television, etc. as they relate to pop-culture, media, etc.
? A team player with a ‘can-do’ mindset
? Natural curiosity and genuine passion for storytelling

Qualifications and skills
? An undergraduate degree or diploma in communications, marketing, or a related discipline.
? Minimum 1-2 years of experience in communications, marketing, or a related discipline
? Strong writing and interpersonal communication skills
? Work experience in social media and performance analytics tools
? High level of initiative and creative thinking
? Able to organize, prioritize, and balance multiple projects
? Proficient in MS Office Suite
? Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite applications
? Knowledge of content management systems (WordPress/Squarespace) and social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube etc.);
? Experience with MailChimp, WordPress, and an understanding of HTML an asset
? Experience in the not-for-profit sector an asset
? Experience with Blackbaud RE/NXT, Salesforce, or other contact management systems an asset, and experience using marketing modules to manage distribution within the contact management system

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hour based on level of experience. This is not an entry-level position and requires physical presence at the workplace in Collingwood, Ontario. Flexible hours may be considered. This position includes a generous benefits plan, including HOOP pension.
