CGMH Seeks Community Input for New Strategic Plan

COLLINGWOOD, ON –July 2, 2024 – Collingwood General and Marine Hospital (CGMH) is embarking on an exciting journey to develop a new strategic plan and is calling on the community for input.
The new plan, which will direct the hospital’s work in 2025 and beyond, will provide a detailed guide for making informed decisions into the future. The creation of this new plan is timely, with the construction of a new state-of-theart hospital for South Georgian Bay projected to be completed within the next 10 years.
"Preparing to build a new hospital is a big job," says Michael Lacroix, CGMH President and CEO. "We need to plan carefully to ensure we continue to provide outstanding care in our aging building today, while laying the groundwork for new programs and services in our future hospital. Our next strategic plan will act as our roadmap to the future, as CGMH begins to build tomorrow, today.”
The new strategic plan is being created through a collaborative process with guidance from CGMH’s Board of Directors, and input from hospital staff, physicians, volunteers, patients, partner hospitals, local government, and the community at large. Each contributor brings unique insights that are vital to the planning process.
An online survey for patients and community members is now open until July 31, 2024, through CGMH’s website: https://cgmh.on.ca/who-we-are/new-strategic-plan. This is an opportunity for everyone to share their thoughts and help shape the hospital's path forward. Printed copies of the survey are also available at the volunteer desk in the front lobby of the hospital.
CGMH anticipates the release of its new strategic plan in early 2025.
Collingwood General and Marine Hospital (CGMH) is an 84-bed hospital located in Collingwood, Ontario (approximately 90 minutes north of Toronto) that serves more than 74,000 permanent residents and 3.5 million annual visitors to the communities of Wasaga Beach, Collingwood, Clearview and the Blue Mountains. CGMH is an acute care hospital providing emergency care, diagnostic services including lab, imaging and cardiorespiratory therapy, as well as two inpatient units (medicine and surgery). In addition, CGMH also provides care in specialty areas including obstetrics, orthopaedics, intensive care and surgery. The Hospital also provides outpatient care including dialysis and a wide range of clinics including mental health and rehabilitation services. CGMH continues to provide care close to home for our community and plays a key role as an integrated orthopaedic centre for our region.
